Transponder code 7700 is the international “general emergency” squawk. When a crew sets it, every radar screen and every receiver in range flags the aircraft immediately. This page lists all aircraft the airplanes.live network currently hears squawking 7700, updating every 30 seconds.
An empty table is the normal, good outcome. A 7700 does not necessarily mean a serious accident is unfolding: crews declare emergencies for medical diversions, pressurisation issues, engine precautionary shutdowns, and fuel state - most end in an uneventful landing.

Two related codes exist alongside 7700: 7600 signals lost radio communications and 7500 signals unlawful interference. They are far rarer; this page tracks the general emergency code.
